Class Descriptions:Beginner's Yoga: Basic Hatha yoga poses and relaxation skills are presented so that each person can work within their own comfort zone. We will use chairs and other props in this class. Taught by Theresa. Gentle Yoga and Stretch: This class is for those of us who do not feel very strong or flexible, but would like to be able to practice yoga without pain or discomfort. We will present small, very useful and encouraging steps, making yoga accessible to those who may not practice otherwise. Beginners. Taught by Saun Dynamic Stretching: This class combines dynamic stretching, deep breathing, meditation and awareness to develop flexibility and strength, relieve tension, experience profound relaxation and enhance the mind-body connection. This class will provide students with techniques to help deal with chronic pain, improve physical condition and just feel good! Come experience this unique combination of yoga-like stretching, Tai Chi, and breathwork. Taught by Ben. Slow Flow: Based on Vinyasa flow, this class is simply presented at a slower pace with a strong emphasis on body awareness and breath work. A bit more challenging than beginner's yoga, but can be modified to suit anyone's needs. Beginner to Intermediate. Taught by Theresa. Hot Yoga: This is a challenging 90 minutes Hatha yoga class in a heated room, designed to stretch and strengthen 100% of your body. Please bring water, a towel and a mat, and be prepared to sweat. Beginner to Intermediate. Taught by Risa. Tai Chi: Tai Chi focuses on moving chi (energy) throughout the body with continuous flowing movements combined with mindful breathwork. It is excellent for releasing stress, improving balance and lowering blood pressure. Tai Chi is taught by Saun. Yogarobics: In the class we will taste a bit of everything: yoga, low impact aerobics, free form dance, a little tai chi, then more yoga. If you want to round out your fitness program, come and check out this class. Taught by Theresa. Meditation Group: Mindfulness/awareness meditation practice designed to connect us deeply with our hearts, minds and bodies. Beginners welcome. Short meditation sessions (10-20 minutes) alternate with group discussions, readings, and walking, for an hour filled with methods to enrich life and deal with day-to-day stresses and strains. Led by Robin Sutherland. Bliss Yoga: This yoga class is taught in the Svaroopa style and focuses on releasing deeply held tensions in the spine, which results in restoration of optimal functioning, deep relaxation and a more peaceful state of being. Beginner to Intermediate. Taught by Jill. Yoga Basics: This class leans toward the intermediate level. It will focus on form and proper alignment within simple poses and will give students a proper foundation to pursue more challenging poses and classes when they are ready. Taught by Julie. Would you like to learn how to create striking arrangements with simple materials in a short period of time? Then check out this workshop that's only offered 3-4 times a year. Ikebana is the art of Japanese flower arranging. Please call 218-5409 for dates and times. Expressive Arts for Personal Growth and Healing: In this workshop, we will do some dancing and drumming, as well as journaling and working with various art materials in order to open the door to new growth.
